Megan Brittain Update

During the downtime of sports not named baseball, I felt the urge to shoot ya'll an update to a story I'd posted a while back.

It was about what a stand-up guy John Parker Wilson was when he called a sick little girl (and huge Bama fan) named Megan Brittain who at the time was receiving cancer treatment.

We recently received an update about Megan, it isn't good news but I'm going to do a cut & paste job because I can't sum up how much this whole thing sucks.

I write asking for your thoughts and prayers...

Many of you know Megan has been battling cancer, and some of you may remember that she lost her mother in February 2007 after a 7-year battle with breast cancer. Several weeks ago Megan was told that her cancer was incurable and that time was now “numbered in months”. She has been dealing with the news as best she knows how, which leans toward asking lots of questions and a type of “shock and awe” effect when others are around.

After another round of scans yesterday, the doctors told Megan that she is now looking at only weeks. Her tumors (in her back, liver, kidney, brain, etc.) are growing rapidly, and there is nothing they can do.

So today I write asking for your good thoughts, your prayers… First for Megan, for her to find the peace she’s searching for…. She’s scared, and rightfully so. For her father Gary, and brothers Ian and Bradley… As expected, none of them are dealing with this well. The extended family & friends who are brokenhearted... We are all dealing with this as best we know how.

Just remember stories like this when you get home from work after having a crappy day. Sometimes we worry and fret about the dumbest stuff that isn't important. We alienate friends and family through arguments. We fret over finances. Many times we've got it so damn good we go looking for things to get upset over. But in the end when something like this hits home, it makes us stop and look at our lives. Are we really prioritizing what we place importance on correctly? I'd be willing to be 99% of us aren't. When you get your workday wrapped up, do me a favor. Hug your spouse, kiss your kids, call your Mama, and make sure each and every one of them knows how much you love them.

Then tonight before you go to bed, say a prayer for those who might not ever get the opportunity to do what you've done again.

Good News

Just saw this at Get the Picture, T-Mo is out! The only thing I don't understand is why the AJC offered him a buyout?!?!

Terence Moore is the author of such great fictitious articles as:

-Why aren't there more black coaches in the NCAA?
-Why do the Braves not have any black players?
-Why do the Thrashers not have any black players?
-Why do the Hawks have a white player?

...as quoted by the AJC, he will be ending a "stellar 24 years" as a sports writer.

In other news, after a large Mexican dinner the other night my stomach hurt so I went to the restroom and dropped a huge "stellar".

I say, good riddence.

Swine Flu 2K9 Pandemic Watch Alert!!1

So seriously how did all the coeds from Tennessee get sick at once?!?!

BOOYAH!!!1

Seriously though, this if virus can take down Bea Arthur no one is safe...hold on...I'm getting an update on this story...yes....uh huh.....alright, my mistake. I apologize, apparently is wasn't swine flu that took down Maude, it was cancer...no details coming though but I'm assuming it was cancer of the prostate. Rose, Blanche, and Sophia could not be reached for comment...

Congratulations to Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno for getting their draft on in the first round. It's great publicity for the Dawgs and big dolla'-dollaz for the two players. It'll be interesting to see how they grow through the system of their respective teams. Can Knowshon still be the first one up off the ground when there are five 400lb defensemen laying on him??? Will Matthew's big arm be able to help Detroit win 1 frickin' game?!?! It'll be great fun to watch and I think I heard the Falcons open up with a scrimmage game against the Lions.

Finally, I was challenged by a Florida Gator to call out our boy, Stafford. And I ain't skuurd.

Matthew Stafford knew he was going to be the first to be drafted overall. He knew he was a pastey white boy. Finally, he put 2 and 2 together to realize he was going to be getting his picture taken ALOT for the event. So what does he do???

He caked on make-up to a depth that rivaled most pre-pubescent tween girls when they first discover foundation...that's what he did.

Do I blame him? Nope. Do I think he looks a little silly? Yep. But if he wants to look like Clayface from Batman the Animated Series while he makes enough money to turn me gay...that's his business.
He will throw a football through you, Calvin Johnson...right. through. you.

Working from home today. They are tearing my roof off my house to replace 3 layers of shingles with just 1 layer. I figured if I had 3 layers of shingles on my house there is no way I'd ever get a leak (you know, taking the idea of "double-bagging" to a third level). This however was incorrect and downright stupid now that I think about it. So, check me out on Twitter throughout the day and I'll try to post some pics as progress...progresses.

Happy Monday, you lucky S.O.B.s!

...aaaand we're baaaaaack!!!

Man, it's been a while ain't it?

I've been plugging away at work trying to get as much done as possible so that's my excuse for no posting. To make it up to you I'm dumping some links out on the table...

Per the Senator, these things will be the target of endless ridicule. I respectfully disagree, but only for lampoon purposes. I believe this idea is created for the same people who get a kick out being tacky, such as myself. If they ever slapped a UGA logo on a BabyBjorn I'd be all over the idea of spawning a child just to carry it around.

Hey remember when all hell broke loose and the Georgia Basketball team won the SEC?!? Well, after 1+ year the Weston is finally getting new windows.

Coach Richt is seeking an NCAA waiver to attend the graduation of Chris Burnette. Being that I spent the 4 wildest years of my life in Troup County (for college), I assume Chris isn't the same kind of douchebag townie highschool kid who would come to our fraternity house asking for beer and wanting to hang out. He didn't make Valedictorian like we thought he would, but you can't complain when when a recruit is hanging with the top.

President Obama just gave me enough non-political incentive to dislike him with the picture on this page.

I wish the best for Matthew Stafford, I really do. I'm a bit torn though. While I want UGA to have a former QB be the 1st overall pick in the 2009 draft...I really don't want him in Detroit. Me thinks 85% Detroit selects the Texas native as their new face, but just knowing what awaits him makes me a little disappointed. However, I think it'd be hilarious if he intentionally didn't throw to Calvin Johnson (even though he's my only hope of the Lions making this selection a good thing).

Finally, this weekend holds great promise of me doing something stupid and it being televised. Mrs. Mackalicious will be running in the 2009 chickEKIDEN 26.2 Mile Relay up in Gainesville tomorrow morning. I'll be going with her just to cheer on the sidelines. My first order of business will be to land a spot near the Georgia Traveler TV cameras. Georgia Traveler is a show on GPTV that highlights random stuff around the state. I'll let you know when it airs and if I made any high/low-lights.

So thanks for the timeoff, I should be back on my game next week.

Happy Friday, suckers.

Here's the Deal

Here's what I'm looking at this week. Mayhem at work, my roof needs to be replaced at home, and with the exception of the Gym Dawgs, UGA news is in a bit of a lull.

So no promises this week but just to save you some time:

"Unless all Hell breaks loose and I've got to throw my 2 cents into the ring, I wouldn't be holding my breath for oodles of content from Blogging Pantsless this week."

-Mackie

I'd love to sit around and be a smartass commentator all day, but when real life calls I gotta answer and right now I'm covered up. So until there's an update, check out my new favorite website.

Farewell John Madden

The Great Turducken himself is calling it quits at the ripe old age of 73. Lets face it, the guys getting pretty dang old and will celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary this Fall. I don't blame the guy, after a while you begin to realize you can see the games much better from the comfort of your living room than from a press box.

I doubt anyone will ever get athlete's foot and not think of John Madden. Hopefully this doesn't end his videogame franchise as well!

The closest I've ever gotten to John Madden was seeing Frank Caliendo at The Punchline off Roswell Rd. So in your honor John, here's your commercial for the QuickPop Popcorn Popper.

Stafford on Late Night

So I watched an episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon the other day on HULU. From a guy who thought the only funny thing Jimmy Fallon ever did on SNL was laugh out of character during skits, I can't say my opinion has changed much. The show was borderline unwatchable but the opening monologue still went over better than the time I dropped the phrase "sweaty Italians" at Maggianos.

Anyway, #7 will be on tomorrow morning at 12:35am (though many refer to this as Thursday night). If you're interested I would definitely DVR it so you don't have to sit through more than your daily allotment of un-funny stuff. After all, I know BloggingPantsless takes up most of the allowance.

Hide the Brooms

After a great start nearly sweeping the first two series, the Braves are now in danger of being swept themselves. Either Florida is the real freaking deal with their latest crop of superstars (waiting to be traded once they ask for more money) or they are going to run out of steam mid summer because the pace at which they win is insane.

Here's hoping our boys salvage one game of the series at todays "Business Person's Special". God forbid we acknowledge the majority of female professionals won't be skipping work to take in a baseball game...therefore we no longer call it the Business Man's Special when the Braves play a 12pm game.

Either way I missed it but apparently we got lit-up in the 9th after keeping the game relatively close the previous 8 innings. Something foul is going on with the bullpen (I didn't see the top of the 9th but I assume it's the reliever's fault). Don't you dare make me break out the Rocker For President shirts again!

Does Marta have a #7 train?

Come on Braves, get your @#$% straight. Looking for Kawakami to go 8 innings.

The New Look Lions

The AJC is running a story saying Matthew Stafford is telling friends he is going to be paid $40 million to be the Lion's first overall pick. The Detroit Lions are being a little more quiet about it and dropping Aaron Curry references.

Also in the story it appears the Lions are going for a complete makeover as they unveil a new logo on Monday as well.

My hope (if Stafford does end up in Detroit) is that he is capable of turning the franchise from this...

into this...

Perhaps a little less of this...

and a little bit more of this...

Until the franchise gets turned around, if they want to be associated with winning perhaps they should change from this...

to this...

Tax Day

I'd like to write a quick post today regarding something I have little to no respect for. That would be our governing tax system.

The first year my wife and I were married, we ended up cleaning out our first year of savings in order to pay our first tax bill together. I will accept blame for this because neither of us had any idea how to properly fill out a W-4 form. Combine that with our status of Married filing separately and we pretty much shot ourselves in the foot.

If you're a liberal or a conservative I can't imagine it matters much, tax season sucks. Since our first mishap I've become more educated in the vast details of our tax system and set out with a personal vendetta against it. That's why even though I think Sean Hannity is somewhat of a D-bag I'll be in Atlanta tonight protesting our country's tax policy.

I've looked at several other plans and personally I find the FairTax to be the most beneficial for the country. The funny thing is I hear people say they like the idea but it'll never happen. Did you ever think the country would be borrowing money from China to give its residents as a "stimulus"? Did you ever think the government would be the main shareholder in any banking operation? Did you ever think your tax money would be helping companies with bad business models continue to do what drove them toward bankruptcy to begin with?

...then don't tell me the FairTax will never happen.

Job growth would explode, take-home income across the country increases, the government still gets the funding it needs to operate, and (for you bleeding hearts out there) the poor are still taken care of.

So take just a minute today and imagine what it would be like to actually take home your full paycheck. Someone making 35,000 per year under the FairTax actually takes home more than someone making $50,000 per year under our current system (unless my math is WAAAAY off). Imagine not being taxed on inheritance from deceased relatives (who have already paid tax on their possessions). Imagine the job growth as the United States becomes a haven for businesses looking to run a more effective operation without payroll, business, and operational taxes.

If you want to see how this would benefit you, click here for the FairTax Calculator.

The whole deal is much bigger than I can cover in a blog post, but do some research. If you think it doesn't effect you because you get money back, you need to get educated. Hopefully people are getting passionate about this stuff because complacency never accomplished anything. These are your elected officials we're talking about, they work because we allowed them to get the job. Let's make sure they're working for us.

So I'm sorry I'm not covering any sports news this morning. Did you really want me to bitch about the Braves/Dawgs losing? I didn't think so.

The Mans Keeping Me Down

Busy Monday, light posting today. So busy I'm working from home so I don't waste time driving. So busy I've got an empty milk jug next to my home office...one guess what it's for. So busy I won't be able to fit in all the great stuff I wanted to write about the Braves sweeping the Nats. It's a little disappointing but until the act of blogging starts covering a mortgage, construction estimating takes priority.

Happy Monday.

I hope everyone had a great Easter.

btw, did you see those black jerseys on G-Day? I'm assuming Coach Richt saw my expired poll to the right and knew to give the people what they want.

More Nerd Humor

What's funnier, the fact there is actually a Facebook group called Georgia Tech Class of 2013 - Indian Freshmen, or it being hijacked?

Mourn, Yellow Jackets, Mourn.

Today is a sad day to be a nerd, Tech fans...

The good news?

It's Spring Break, so turn to your Co-eds for comfort!

G-Day

Looks like I won't be making it to G-Day this year, I couldn't get my Reds tailored in time so the bottoms remain unhemmed. My only other "team spirit" option would be my wife's outfit...

...and last time I put the tube-top on it got stuck so I'm not going through all that again!

That's not the only reason though, I've also got yardwork galore and the allure of the World Wide Leader televising the blasted thing so I might as well save my gas for the trip to Stillwater. Saturday afternoon, croquet and burgers at my house for G-Day if you're interested!
(...sorry, it won't be warm enough for short Reds)

Happy Friday, suckers.

Statistical Gayness

Judging by the poll I placed up earlier this week Dawg fans by a nearly 3-to-1 ratio would like to see the Black Jerseys on G-Day. It only makes since since it is called "Red vs Black", but I think it goes far beyond titular accuracy (ha, titular).

I'm of the opinion this sample of 40 hardcore Dawg fans (because who else goes looking for college football news in April) tells of our continued affection for said Black Jerseys. Though this group only represents .0431% of the capacity of Sanford Stadium; with an 80% favorability ratio it essentially expands out to 74,197 who favor Black Jersey representation on G-Day to 18,549 who would rather just see the traditional White Jersey (if a capacity crowd were polled at the game).

Though I personally would like to see most our boys in the green jerseys, that wouldn't make for a very interesting G-Day (unless the Lettermen guys wanted to leave their flags out there when they were done). Can you tell I'm paranoid of injuries?!?

Large Hill Cody

...Terrance is going the wrong way!

COACH SABAN, I CAN HAS?!?

That's more like it...

For a while, until about 4:30pm yesterday, I thought the Braves would be a really tight team this season.

Then I watched one of the worst human meltdowns since Travis Bickle.

...I know the feeling Travis, someday a real rain will come and wash out the trash of our bullpen.

If nothing else, I'm at ease knowing the same old Braves are still around and I won't have to go around thinking "This year will be different"...again.

God help us if our starting pitchers can't make it through 8 innings. I can take comfort in feeling between Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano the two wouldn't give up more than 3 runs trying to close a game out, so as long as we're up by 4 when the starter gets pulled we should be straight.

So other than the fact we sent 4 consecutive relief pitchers up to the mound to either hit people, walk them, or toss basketball-sized change ups it was a great offensive game for the Bravos (this means our fielders were hitting the ball well and the relief pitching was offensive). If Roger McDowell was looking for people to not throw strikes I would have sent my resume in during tryouts. My church softball team can totally vouch for my superior ability to walk batters, I should at least make some Chedder for my skillz.

Honestly though, I'm just looking to bitch about a stupid loss. We should have won but didn't execute and that's what hurts most. Otherwise we won the series so 2 outta 3 ain't bad and I shouldn't complain. Bring on the Nats.

SIDE NOTE:
Work is going to be teh suxorz today so light posting is expected unless there's any big news I just gotta comment on.

Because Wikipedia is 100% Factual

There are few things I enjoy more than catching funny editorials on Wikipedia.

Following the Alabama loss last year there were some incredibly harsh (yet funny) observations about Willy Martinez...I promise I had very little to do with most of them.

Today's amusing Wikipedia reference comes from a search of Falcon's Wide Receiver, Brian Finneran

To make sure there aren't any kill-joys out there who will ruin the fun, I've done a screen capture to assist you.

Are you sure he went to Villanova? He seems more like a Georgia Tech kinda guy to me.

Carlton Thomas

The Senator already linked this article so chances are you've already seen it. Most of us following Spring Practices know about the short kid from Frostproof Highschool by now.

Carlton Thomas is only 5'8" putting him at eye level with most of our wives. However since reporting to campus last Summer at 169 Carlton has bulked up to 180 lbs (which isn't something you want your wife to do over the course of a year) and is getting some serious praise from his teammates for his vision, speed, and untackledness (sp?).

Number one, if you're an undersized RB a good person to idolize is Barry Sanders whom Carlton grew up watching with his father. Number two, with much of the uncertainty we have going into the tailback's competition, a darkhorse like Carlton Thomas might be just what we're looking for.

With Knowshon getting the lion's share of carries last year we only got to see Caleb King and Richard Samuel on limited playing time. To be perfectly honest neither guy dropped my jaw...but again, compared to Knowshon's elusiveness it's hard to stand out in that department. We'll see how the race shakes out, I know who my eyes will be on come G-Day.

Similar to how Orson Charles' name stuck with me like Orson the Pig from U.S.Acres, with a first name like Carlton you gotta know where I'm going with this. An undersized guy named Carlton...could it get much easier?!? Fortunately I was able to scrounge up this footage of Mr. Thomas performing for Ladies Night at Toppers downtown. Enjoy!

So far no Fulmer Cup points have been awarded to the Dawgs for Carlton's actions.

UPDATE:
Shows what I know about height. Apparently 5'8" is still fairly tall for a girl. This coming from a guy who is 6'5" and thinks his sister is short...she's 5'10".

In the year 2000.....

If you thought life sucked when you were able to read my thoughts once or twice a day, your life just got a whole lot suckier!

Much like when your father joined Facebook and tried to befriend you, me joining Twitter signifies a significant drop in the coolness of the program. After I linked Coach Richt's Twitter account last week and was notified that all the cool kids have been Tweeting for a while now I finally jumped on the bandwagon!

Follow me here!

Since I'm new to Twitter it'll most likely take me a week or so to be moderately competent, so we'll see how this works out.

I admit I tried to search myself and typed in "BPMackie". If you think my blog is offensive, check out what Twitter thinks I meant to search for!

...in defense of all Southerners, I guarantee you I DID NOT mean that!

My Wife's Blog

I just wanted to throw a little plug out there for my wife's blog. She has been so inspired by my creativity and observations she decided to return to her hobby of writing (which I always imagined would make us our millions and I could retire at the ripe old age of 26).

So check out Sweetie's blog, Olive the News and let her know what you think! I told her I wasn't going to link her until she kept it updated long enough and she's done a great job of putting up some interesting content.

Also anything bad you read about me on there is completely false because she is a graduate of the University of Alabama and (much like thier coach) not to be trusted.

If you'll recall she did this to my bathroom mirror prior to the UGA game last year.

Injury Bug: A Specimen

Injury bugs are highly concentrated in the northeastern quadrant of the state of Georgia. Though their bite is rarely fatal, the venom is known to be powerful enough to completely demolish any hopes/dreams one might have. The effects are usually permeated in knees, shoulders, elbows, or ACLs even though the bites generally occur in the ass-ular area. Once bitten the venom attacks the nervous system leaving a sinking feeling in the stomach and pain in the testes similar to a swift kick in the nuts.

I was surfing the interwebs yesterday and came across Bubba & Earl's post about what I'm most excited about with G-Day coming up. Just like everyone else I recognize this year is a bit of a strange bird. I'm not labelling it as a rebuilding year because we've got veteran leadership, it's just not the guys we've seen making headlines the last 3 years.

Options of their poll include:

-Battle at running back
-The freshmen quarterbacks
-How the team will cover injuries
-Seeing the game on ESPN
-Something else

My natural inclination was to immediately check the injury option because I'm a worrier. For years I believed Larry Munson when he told me we weren't big enough, strong enough, or fast enough to hang with our competition...all that stuff...I ate it up. Sure we were playing Western Carolina Community College for the Blind when Larry made said comments, but nonetheless if we didn't have our act together an upset could have happened, right???

With 5 of our 7 defensive ends out until Summer and now Kris Durham might need shoulder surgery I get the symptomatic sinking feeling commonly associated with watching the injury bug decimate your team.

Coach Richt stated he'll be the happiest coach alive in July (or June...or whenever he said all his injured players will be back). If nothing else, AJ Green says he's 100%. Right now that appears to be a shining beacon of hope in Spring practice.

Of course when you have 200-300 lb kids running into and falling all over each other injuries are bound to happen. I just hope the trainers are providing our boys with Tahitian Noni enemas and horse vitamin protein shakes in the meantime. The last thing we need is a team full of Mike Hamptons when we kick off the season in Stillwater.

ONE MORE THING:
A huge thanks to David Hale for linking my Percy Harvin Sir Smokes-a-lot post. It was a banner day for traffic yesterday at Blogging Pantsless with nearly 600 hits. A referral like that bumped David's Bulldog's Blog from Aficiando up to My Morning Crack status. I hope to draw some new readers from the exposure so thanks again. Good man, that David Hale...good man.

Braves/Phils

The Bravos opened their baseball season in Philthadephia last night. It's a fun thing to watch and I hate my intensity for the sport begins to waiver once the silver britches take a different field 73 miles Northeast.

There was something different about Bobby Cox's boys last night. I personally see this year as a clean slate because we made many changes which many saw as being unpopular (and the hate for Frank Wrens rained down like R. Kelly at a highschool prom). New faces littered the field and the guys looked like they were having fun together.

Here's a quick rundown of things I learned...

1. Derek Lowe was THE MAN last night.

2. The HGH Jordan Schafer got busted with didn't help much.

Mainly because he looked like me wearing a Braves uniform. The biggest difference? I couldn't hit a homerun against the Phillies best pitcher in my first major league at bat. Also, I couldn't single up the middle against him my second time at the plate. Finally, I doubt they would pitch around me my third at bat. This kid has the opportunity to be something special, I just wish he didn't look like such a total douchenozzle. I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but seriously...the guy looks like he'd be a total bastard if you ran into him in a public setting. Then again, opinions are like noses and mine are big and Jewish-looking.

3. Jeff Francoeur is a lot cuter when he doesn't groundout into an inning-ending double play.

You know what? I'm totally straight, I dig boobs, but I'm not afraid to have a man-crush. My wife is completely cool with it and I've come to accept it as a part of normal male adulthood. It doesn't mean I want to sword-fight with the guy, I think a man-crush is more of a "dude I'd like to hang with" sort of thing. Three to four years ago when Jeffrey broke out on the scene I had much respect for the guy. Then he got fat and the strikeout to double play ratio got way too high and I dropped Jeff in favor of former Atlanta Thrasher Marian Hossa.

4. Hey, speaking of fat & striking out anyone miss this guy???

...nope? Alrighty!

That's about all I've got, aside from the overwhelming amount of sucktitude the ESPN broadcasters bring to the table the game was fun to watch. However listening to Joe Morgan and Wrongname McQueerballs stumble over awkward silences and calling players by the wrong name is borderline painful. In Heaven, Skip Carey just made a couple exceptions to his "Don't step on downed powerlines" PSA.

Quick football thought:

5 days until G-Day...I was mulling over whether or not I'd think making Red vs Black actually Red jerseys vs Black jerseys would be cool. Have people completely lost faith in how cool the black jerseys looked? I'm of the opinion if we are to wear them once this year it should be the G-Day game, not actually against competition. Bring them back to competitive play in 2010 after the 2008 Bama game is a distant memory. Poll @ top right, let me know Dawg Nation.

Halfbaked Harvin

...apparently our defense wasn't the only thing he smoked.

My assumption is the university will have this added next to Tebow's speech plaque.

Moore hate for Terence...

I know I've already met my quota for making fun of Terence Moore this morning, but David Hale drew our attention to this earlier in the week when Moore suggested we go after Tubby Smith as our next basketball coach. From the comments section of Moore's article...

Mr. Moore, I am 12 years old and love reading your articles. I think they are great! Please keep writing and inspiring the youth like me to write!

Wow, what a nice compliment from a young reader, to which Mr. Moore responds...

Mike Campo,

Thanks for the kind words. Since you’re 12 years old, I’m sure you’ll change your mind several times in regards to what you want to do in life. But keep studying hard in general, and I’m glad you enjoy writing. The more you write, the more you’ll enjoy it, and the more you’ll develop your craft.

Having the ability (and the will) to write effectively will help you in whatever you decide to do.

So, Mike, keep listening to your parents and to your teachers, and you’ll be just fine.

...aaaaaaaaand Mike Campo for the win...

Just kidding, your writing and opinions suck

Mike Campo, whoever you are, there is a lukewarm Miller High Life in my cooler for you whenever you desire. Just let me know.

Meet Coach Fox

As the CFO of Pantsless Enterprises, LLC let me be the 36th-37th person to welcome our new basketball coach, straight from the desert, Mark Fox!

As I've said before, basketball ain't really my thang. However, if you're anything like me (catching headlines here & there about the coaching search) your first reaction was...who is this guy?!?

Info courtesy of AJC:
• Fox has been coach of the Wolf Pack for the past five seasons, where he was 123-43, including 21-13 this past season. He never won fewer than 21 games there and went 29-5 in 2006-07.

• Nevada competes in the Western Athletic Conference, and Fox’s teams won the league four of his five seasons. They finished second to Utah State this past season.

• The Wolf Pack played in the NCAA Tournament three straight seasons but not the past two. They reached the second round in 2005 and 2007.

• Fox’s teams played Georgia’s twice, winning both times. Nevada beat the Bulldogs 58-47 in Athens on Nov. 26, 2004 and 68-62 on Dec. 21, 2005.

Apparently he's a big guy from the mid-majors and hopefully he can bring some "W's" into Stegeman.

The big question now, is how long it take Terence Moore to scream racism since we hired a white coach...in 5, 4, 3, 2.....

Happy Friday, suckers.

Jon Richt

Apparently it's big news everytime Coach's son visits a school campus. Since his departure from Clem(p)son the AJC has run stories about the visits to Valdosta and Georgia State. The funniest part (per usual) is reading the comment section below each story.

They are chock full of Tech fans and Georgia bashers who make comments like:

-Some parent Mark Richt is if he wouldn't even want to coach his own son.

-His kid must really suck if he can't even get into ugay on his daddy's coattails.

Bottom line, Jon Richt isn't good enough to start at Georgia...no problem with that statement. His father can still be the second coming of Vince Dooley without spawning a litter of Matthew Staffords in his own name. If you'll recall, Mark Richt wasn't really the best QB in Miami during his younger days but so goes the old adage, "Those who can DO, those who can't TEACH".

Jon Richt came from a small private school in Athens, unfortunately we can't all be Catamounts. So I think we can all agree the best thing for Jon Richt to do is forget about scholarships and go down to LaGrange College and play Division III football. He'll still be able to bleed red & black and get a great education in the same small, private school environment in the state of Georgia.

Aside from the 2006 and 2007 seasons, LaGrange has a history of winning and a strong tradition of dominating its conference. This year we return as reigning SLIAC Champions and Coach Todd Mooney is ready to defend his title. Also, you can rush Delt and have your dad donate a lot of money to our fraternity to build us a new house. Just some ideas for you, Jon. Don't worry, I'm friends with Coach Richt on Facebook and I'll make sure I link this post to him (though I doubt he'll need it because he told me personally he reads BloggingPantsless regularly each morning between coffee and Bible study).

...this could be you, Jon. Plus our Krystals is open 24 hours!
